Coverage measures exposure

LearnTerms defines student coverage as: questions tried ÷ questions available A student with 80% coverage has interacted with 80% of the relevant question bank. Answer accuracy remains a separate measure. Use coverage to ask, “How much of the material has this person reached?” Use separate evidence for grades and mastery.

Median coverage

The overview reports the median coverage across students with available statistics. Median uses the middle value after sorting student coverage percentages, which limits the influence of unusually high or low activity. Coverage-based metrics exclude students whose statistics are unavailable.

Participation

At the module level, participation is the share of cohort students who tried at least one question in that module. For example, 18 of 24 students means 18 students have entered the module’s question activity at least once. Completion requires its own review.

Question coverage

Module Question coverage measures student–question pairs. If a module has 10 questions and the cohort has 20 students, there are 200 possible student–question pairs. If 50 pairs have been tried, module question coverage is 25%. This metric helps distinguish:
  • many students trying only a few questions
  • a smaller group working through most of the module
  • questions nobody has reached

Activity windows

  • Active this week means recorded activity within the last seven days.
  • Quiet for 30+ days means the student previously tried a question but has no recorded activity in the last 30 days.
  • Not started means no questions have been tried.
These operational windows summarize recorded activity timing. Effort and performance require additional context.

Flags

A flag indicates that a student marked a question for attention. It can mean uncertainty, a suspected content issue, or a desire to revisit the item. A high flag count is a review signal. Open the question, source, options, and rationale to determine whether a change is warranted.

Least explored modules

The overview displays a limited ranked sample of modules with low coverage. Use Explore all to browse the full curriculum before concluding that an omitted module is well covered.
